On the boards: Indian Trail Animal Hospital
An existing 12,000sf pre-fabricated steel building will be transformed to house Indian Trail Animal Hospital and ImmediVet Urgent Care. With twenty exam rooms, two treatment areas, cat and dog kennels, four surgical and dental suites, and an urgent care facility, the design orchestrates the movement of veterinary workers, clients, and animals with spatial efficiency and economy of materials. The architecture welcomes the non-human occupants visiting the hospital with two new exterior vestibule additions that help dogs and cats have a safer transition as they move from their cars to the reception area.
Oak Five’s design celebrates our non-human counterparts as equally deserving of our design attention as the human occupants of a site. Future phases of work will engage the landscape surrounding the structure, with the addition of exterior exam rooms and drive-up exam spaces adjacent to a large shady dog run and play space.
